Minnesota HomeCare Association (MHCA) is a statewide, non-profit association whose mission is to promote the delivery of quality care in a variety of home living environments. We represent more than 180 diverse home care organizations that provide hands-on care to Minnesota residents. MHCA provides a variety of services to our members including information, education, advocacy for adequate reimbursement and appropriate regulation for home care, and a code of ethics for home care. MHCA is recognized as the “voice of home care” for the state of Minnesota. Will I receive a confirmation notice?
Yes, all registrants will receive a confirmation notice, once the conference registration has been processed. If you have not received a confirmation notice, please call MHCA at 651-635-0607 to confirm receipt of your registration materials.
What is included with my full conference registration?
- Your choice from 20 sessions
- Recognition program luncheon, expo hall grand opening/dinner, and Wednesday evening bonfire
- Breakfast, lunch, and snack breaks on Thursday
- Business meeting/breakfast and snack on Friday
- Electronic access to conference handouts
- Many networking opportunities and access to a full participant list
Are handouts available at the conference?
Speaker handouts will be available for print-out beginning May 3 up to the day of the conference. As we receive handouts from the presenters, we will post them on our Annual Meeting webpage. In some cases, the presenters will bring materials that will be used interactively. Handouts will be posted for three weeks following the conference.
Can I bring my laptop to the sessions?
Yes, you may! The resort is a Wi-Fi hotspot, but keep in mind there are no public charging stations. All guest rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and electrical for charging.
Are there continuing education credits?
We are dedicated to providing and promoting quality education. This program has been designed to meet the continuing education requirements for the Minnesota Board of Nursing for contact hours. Several programs also meet the continuing education requirements for the MN Board of Social Work (which has approved Minnesota HomeCare Association as a provider of continuing education). Application is being made to the Minnesota Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators for clock hours and the Minnesota Board of Physical Therapy for MN-Category 1 continuing education hours (select sessions).
What should I wear?
Since the atmosphere is a relaxed resort setting, appropriate dress for classes is business casual. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket or sweater as it is difficult to maintain the perfect temperature in the meeting rooms. Social and leisure events are as dressed up or down as you like. Please make sure to bring warm clothes for the outdoor events!
Is there time for leisure?
Yes! MHCA will host a number of networking events throughout the conference. Click here to view the MHCA networking events. The Arrowwood resort hotel is located in a setting of natural splendor and offers outstanding year 'round recreational facilities and service that will exceed your expectations. The hotel is home to the Big Splash Waterpark, Atikwa Golf Course, full-service Darling Reflections Spa, and the Arrowwood Horse Stables.
Can I bring family guests?
You are welcome to bring family members with you to enjoy the resort while you are attending the conference. Your name badge is proof of your conference registration and is required to attend any event or program. Guests may join you for meals and networking in the exhibit hall; please refer to the meal ticket rates below.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
All meals are served buffet style. Should you have a dietary restriction, please contact MHCA Education Manager Allison Kindseth by May 3. The resort caters to all diets and can accommodate almost any dietary restriction.
Can I purchase guest meal tickets?
Your meals are included with your registration fee. Guests attending any conference meal function may purchase meal tickets.

Is there a public restaurant at the resort?
Yes, you can choose from a variety of dining experiences sure to satisfy every taste. The offerings at Lake Café and Rafters are sure to meet all of your dining needs and feature delicious meals with something for everyone.
Where is the conference registration desk?
You will find us just outside the Lake Darling Ballroom.
Registration Desk hours:
- Wednesday, May 10 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 11 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Friday, May 13 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
A full conference registration may not be shared among multiple people; each attendee must individually register and pay a registration fee. Individual day rates are available.
Need to Substitute?
Substitutions will be taken until the conference begins at no additional charge. Please notify MHCA of any name changes by emailing Annie Xiong.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
A written cancellation postmarked on or before April 26 is required for a refund less a $25 cancellation fee ($25 per cancellation). Cancellations made between April 27 - May 3 are charged 50% of their registration fee to cover expenses incurred. Attendees who cancel after May 3, do not substitute another individual, or do not attend are liable for full fees and will not be entitled to a refund. Substitutions will be taken until the conference begins at no additional charge. Please contact Annie Xiong with name changes.
In the event of a change to a seminar session, all reasonable efforts will be made to provide a qualified substitution.
