region meeting Webinar Topic:

Opioid Dashboard: One-Stop Shop for Opioid-Related Data and Information

This webinar will be recorded and posted on the MHCA Region website after the live event - available to Members Only

Kate Erickson works for the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) in opioid overdose prevention. Erickson will review the Opioid Dashboard, a one-stop shop for opioid-related data and information. The Opioid Dashboard includes information about opioid overdose death, nonfatal overdose, substance use disorder, prescribing practices, harm reduction, and many other topics. Each section includes indicators, data analysis, resources, and upstream or promising practices related to the indicator. Come learn about the Opioid Dashboard and how it can be used to inform the opioid epidemic response:

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the activity, participants should be better able to:

  • List the indicator sections and data sources included on the Opioid Dashboard
  • Identify trends regarding the opioid epidemic in Minnesota
  • Use statewide searchable databases for identifying substance use treatment openings and safe drop-box locations
  • Discuss the continuum from emergency response, treatment and intervention, to primary prevention and public health

Kate Erickson, Opioid Overdose Prevention Director, Minnesota Department of Health (MDH)

Prior to working at the MDH, Erickson worked in community health centers (FQHCs) and with an accountable care organization (ACO) as the Integrated Care Program Manager, running programs in care coordination, chemical health, advocacy services, and behavioral health integration. Erickson’s work includes improving chronic pain management and opioid prescribing guidelines, as well as launching clinic-based buprenorphine programs. Erickson brings more than 15 years of experience in community organizing, strategic planning, program development, group facilitation, staff supervision, advocacy, and teaching.

Continued Education Credits

This program has been designed to meet the continuing education requirements for the Minnesota Board of Nursing for contact hours. A facilitator from each participating region will be responsible for copying and distributing the attached materials to the participants and ensuring that each participant requesting contact hours prints their name on the roster. The Association uses these rosters to verify your attendance. Participants must remain on the webinar until its conclusion. Additionally, you will be given an evaluation for this activity. Please take a few minutes at the conclusion of the presentation to complete this form. At the conclusion of the presentation, the facilitator will be responsible for collecting the evaluations and rosters and returning them to the Minnesota HomeCare Association office. There must be an evaluation for each name on the roster. Certificates of Completion will be emailed to each agency facilitator once the evaluations and rosters have been received.
