Challenges and Opportunities - Preventing and Responding to Abuse, Neglect and Financial Exploitation

MHCA closely monitored the discussions around vulnerable adults this past legislative session. While we know that home care providers already embody and provide the dignified cares necessary to those so vulnerable in Minnesota, we want to offer you another resource to strengthen your strategies and best practices to prevent and stop abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults. This timely webinar will be instructed by expert, Marit Anne Peterson.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize risk and protective factors for abuse, neglect and financial exploitation;
  2. Become familiar with reporting barriers that prevent older adults from seeking intervention;
  3. Review and discuss Minnesota's statutes and related statistics;
  4. Learn about current best practices for preventing elder abuse in home care settings.
