Minnesota Home Care Foundation Scholarships

About

The Minnesota Home Care Foundation funds are dedicated to workforce initiatives. This new scholarship program is designed to enhance retention. The training must increase the quality of care being provided to their patients. Examples of training topics that will be considered are wound care, pain management, psychiatric, and more.

The funding will be awarded to the employer, who is responsible for confirming that the course has been completed.

Eligibility

  • Must be direct care or clinical support employee for an agency that is a member of the Minnesota Home Care Association when scholarship is awarded.
  • The following agency roles are eligible, provided the course content is relevant to their role and responsibilities: nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, and administration. For administrative or back-office staff, training should strengthen their ability to perform their job effectively, improve processes, or provide knowledge that supports quality care delivery.
  • Applicants must be willing to bring information learned in this course back to the agency who employs them.
  • Selection committee will take into consideration the number of scholarships that are awarded to agencies, with no more than 3 scholarships going to an MHCA agency each year.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Up to $200 for a certification course or other continuing education course. 

Application process:

  • Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
  • Applications will be reviewed on the 2nd week of the following months:
    • March (due March 1st)
    • June (due June 1st)
    • September (due Sept 1st)
    • December (due Dec 1st)
  • Applicants will be notified of approval, and payments will be mailed by the 20th of that month.
