The MHCA is piloting a new Regulatory Consulting Program designed to provide members with customized, corrective support to strengthen compliance and survey readiness. This program offers targeted consulting services in three key areas: chart audit review, QAPI audit review, and mock surveys for Medicare and comprehensively licensed agencies. Each engagement is tailored to identify gaps, reduce risk, and support continuous improvement. See the chart below for additional details on available services.

- Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs)

- A report will be completed and emailed to you one week after completion of the audit

| Mock Survey (Comprehensive & Medicare Agencies) |
- Agency walk-through (licensure, labor law posters, storage areas, HIPAA compliance)
- Chart review based on prior year's survey reports, typically including:
- Active Clients: 5
- Discharged clients: 2
- Employees: 2-3
- Review of the following documents:
- Client handbook
- Education (policies or completed records)
- Emergency preparedness
- Governing body meeting minutes
- Infection control
- Policies and procedures
- QAPI components
- Staff meeting notes
- Start of Care documents
- Survey manual (if applicable)
- Optional: 1-2 patient visits (beneficial for clinicians)

- Mock survey will be done in-site and mimic a real survey, lasting 1-2 days
- A report will be completed and emailed to you in one week after completion of the mock survey

Consulting Cancellation Policy
All in-person consultations must be cancelled one week prior to the scheduled consultation, in order for a full refund of the down payment. All virtual consultations must be cancelled 48 hours prior to scheduled time, in order for a full refund of the down payment. Partial refunds will be considered in extenuating circumstances.
All cancellations must be documented in writing.
About Our Consultant
 | Paulette has over 30 years of leadership spanning Medicare home health care, Minnesota “Comprehensive licensed” home care, hospice, and assisted living facilities. She is an expert in regulatory, compliance, and quality initiatives. Her clinical background includes practice in hospitals, clinics, home health leadership, insurance case management, and accreditation surveying with ACHC.
Paulette is skilled in providing education, training, and mentoring as well as mock surveys, agency analysis, and audits. Her passion is to support others in the health care industry so that they may provide excellent services to our elderly and those struggling with mental health disorders as well as dementia-related diseases. |
