One of the most appreciated MHCA member benefits has been the nurse consultants. Did you know that your MHCA membership provides you with the free opportunity to send questions to the MHCA nurse consultants, either via email or phone? We are excited to announce an enhancement to this benefit for 2018.
Vickie Brand, RN, BSN, PHN will be joining us as the MHCA Medicare Consultant. Vickie is a HealthEast compliance consultant for home care and hospice and specializes in Medicare and Medicaid regulations. She has served on the MHCA Medicare Team since 2012 and is currently the chair. Prior to 20 years in home care, Vickie was a nurse on a medical surgical unit.
In addition to answering your Medicare-related questions. Vickie will continue to lead/staff the Medicare Team and will develop additional member resources, such as check-lists and toolkits. Watch for news in 2018 regarding these new member resources!
Lores Vlaminck will continue her role as a consultant with her primary focus being comprehensive home care and hospice inquiries. Lores also covers questions related to assisted living, palliative care and home care nursing. As a consultant on the MHCA Survey Regulatory Team, Lores also assists with gathering information from the home care licensing and regulatory staff at the MN Department of Health.
Connie Dreyer will continue as a MHCA Nurse Consultant for PCA related questions.
