Political Contribution Refund Program
Did you know?
You can contribute $50 a year to one state political candidate of your choice and get the contribution completely refunded by the Minnesota Department of Revenue?
It is true!
The Political Contribution Refund Program was reinstated by the 2013 legislature, which means that YOU can give to a candidate or party unit and be refunded $50 per individual or $100 for a married couple filing a joint request form. The first step is to GIVE. The candidate will provide a receipt, which you submit with a refund form to the Minnesota Department of Revenue. You don’t have to wait until tax time to submit, and your refund will arrive promptly.
Don’t have a candidate in mind? Consider donating to your own State Representative or State Senator. Be sure to include a note with the contribution letting them know that you represent the homecare profession in Minnesota, that you support state policies that allow for aging and medically frail Minnesotans to remain at home, and that you are happy to be a resource during the upcoming session. Include your phone number, and thank them for their service!

Or, consider giving to a member of the House or Senate Health and Human Services Health Finance Committees. Be sure to include a note with the contribution letting them know that you represent the home care profession in Minnesota, that you support state policies that allow for aging and medically frail Minnesotans to remain at home, and that you are happy to be a resource during the upcoming session. Include your phone number, and thank them for their service!
Want to make your contribution go even further?
Make your money work even harder with a contribution to the MN HomeCare PAC. Take that refund, and contribute again - think of it as a two-for-one! This time, make the donation to the PAC, stand with other in the home care profession, and help amplify our voice at the State Capitol!
The MN HomeCare PAC is seeking new members of the committee leading up to the important 2014 elections. Help represent the homecare professionals and those Minnesotans whose lives are improved by access to quality care in their homes by becoming a PAC Board member.
